Puerto Vallarta’s Malecón to Reopen

by Craig Zabransky on October 6, 2011

A seaside stroll along the Malecón, one of the true joys of visiting Puerto Vallarta, will take on a new, fresh look this winter after its reconstruction. The Malecón received a facelift.

Malecón Reopens on October 16th

Over four months ago the project to redesign the Malecón began and now the wait is finally almost over.  Two blocks have already been unveiled and the official reopening ceremony and celebration is slated for October 16th.

The initial impressions from the public on the newly opened blocks of the Malecón has been very positive. Certainly a few have expressed frustration at the construction in the heart of the city,  but excitement builds as the wait nears its end. Just a few days left.

The Mayor is very aware of the importance of the project He assured the public once the new Malecón is unveiled everyone will pleased. He also stated how important it is to create a new and improved look to attract new (and return) visitors to this top Mexican destination.

I personally can’t wait to walk the new Malecón. I look forward to a Sunday Stroll with some Esquites and a chance to take in a sunset in Puerto Vallarta. See you there.
